Chocolate PB Protein Pops

It's the middle of summer, and in Florida that means hot and muggy. So, my appetite for frozen treats and cold drinks has definitely increased. And what can be better for a frozen treat than a fudgesicle? Below is my spin on fudgecicles... with protein! It's a lean, healthy, tasty, and frozen treat that is sure to melt any meathead's heart.

As I stated above, the inspiration for this treat came from it being ungodly hot and sticky. But the idea of how to make it came by accident. Recently, I have been experimenting with different milk protein blends. And the thing about blends is that if you don't add much liquid then they get very pudding like. But they are not quite pudding. So, what happens when you combine a milk protein blend with actual pudding mix? You get some serious protein pudding!

The problem with protein pudding is that it usually doesn't taste that great. That's where PB2 and Phase 8 Chocolate Peanut Butter protein comes in. Phase 8 Chocolate Peanut Butter is quite possibly the best tasting protein powder I have ever had. Yes, that's a very bold statement. But it is absolutely true! And the the PB2? Well, that's to enhance the peanut butter taste so that the chocolate pudding mix doesn't eclipse Phase 8's great peanut butter flavor.

And the result? Try it and see! This will not disappoint.

Ingredients

  • 1scoop Phase 8 Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • 2tbsp PB2
  • 28g Jello Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • 6oz Skim Milk

Directions

  1. Mix the Phase 8, PB2, and pudding mix together.
  2. Slowly add in the milk, while stirring.
  3. When the pudding is smooth and blended, partition it into the popsicle molds.
  4. Freeze for at least 2 hours.
