Two Great Tasting Protein Shakes
Vanilla
protein powder is good stuff for baking and mixing. But when it comes
to creating protein shakes, it always needs a little help. Well, help is
here! These two protein shakes both use vanilla protein powder and both
of them are absolutely incredible tasting. Allow me to introduce the
Honey Graham Protein Shake and the Cinnaroll Protein Shake.
The
inspiration for creating both of these shakes came about [like most
great ideas] out of necessity. I had a 5lb tub of ON Gold Standard
Vanilla Ice Cream protein powder, I didn't have enough money to buy a
different tub of protein powder and I had no idea what protein shakes to
make with vanilla protein powder. Sure, I could have just mixed it up
with some water. But I actually wanted to enjoy the consumption of my
protein powder. So, I experimented a bit and then the Cinnaroll Protein
Shake was born.
My
first attempt at creating a cinnamon roll flavored protein shake was
well, meh. I used all the usual suspects: protein powder, milk,
cinnamon. But there was something missing. The texture was off and it
didn't have that rich buttery taste that you should expect from a
cinnamon roll. So, I added a little more cinnamon, some greek yogurt,
honey, and some butter. Yep, that's right, butter! What has more of a
buttery taste than butter? Answer: Nothing. And the Cinnaroll Shake was
ready for prime time.
The
other protein shake on the list is the Honey Graham Protein Shake. It
also was an accident. I was originally going to do a honey & banana
protein shake. But my last banana was rotten. So, I substituted in some
peanut butter and some sweetened vanilla yogurt. The result? It tasted
just like a honey graham cracker. Who the hell needs a banana with a
flavor like that? Not me!
Cinnaroll Protein Shake
Ingredients
- 1.5scoops ON Gold Standard Whey Vanilla Ice Cream
- 6oz skim milk
- 3oz Chobani vanilla fat free Greek yogurt
- 20g honey
- 1/4tbsp salted butter (melted)
- 1tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Really? Stick it all in a blender and turn it on.

- 20g honey
- 1tbsp creamy peanut butter
