10min Chocolate Protein Pudding
What's
that you say? You want a delicious and healthy protein packed snack
that you can make in under 10min? Well friend, you have come to the
right place! This recipe is all about protein pudding. And this isn't
just any kind of protein pudding. This is chocolate protein pudding,
which everybody knows, is the best kind of pudding. Quick, healthy,
delicious and packed with protein... can it get any better? I doubt it.
This recipe actually came about by accident. I was trying to create a no bake cheesecake version of my Grasshopper Protein Pie that was featured on proteinpow.com.
But I took a wrong turn somewhere and the chocolate base of my
cheesecake didn't end up firm like cheesecake. It was actually more like
chocolate pudding than chocolate cheesecake. However, it was pretty
awesome tasting just the same. And that's when my chocolate protein
pudding was born.
Because
my chocolate protein pudding was originally intended to be no bake
cheesecake, it is pretty unique in terms of pudding. It requires no
baking. That's right, it's a pudding (in texture, at least) that
requires zero cooking time!
I
call it pudding, but its soul is really yogurt and cream cheese. But
it's even better than traditional pudding, and not just because you
don't have to bake it. The yogurt gives it an incredible tangy flavor
that, well, you'll just have to make it and taste it to find out.
Seriously, you could serve this up for desert and nobody would ever know
that they were basically eating a protein shake disguised as pudding.
It is THAT GOOD!
There
is one downside to this pudding, if you can even call it a downside. I
actually used a little liquor to make it. That might not come as a
surprise to those of you familiar with grasshopper pie. But it might
seem a little weird to those of you looking for a healthy treat. And
what's more, none of the liquor burns off because, well, it's not
cooked. Per serving, the amount of liquor is nominal. I guess if you ate
a whole bucket of this protein pudding in a single sitting then you
might get a buzz. But I'm betting before that happened you would be
looking at an entirely different set of problems (like how to keep all
that protein pudding below your esophagus).
OK, enough chit-chat. Here's what you want to know.
